My first exposure to Carol was 2 years ago at the 2000 Vancouver Convention. I took in all she had to say. My problem was that I could see it all but it took me 18 months to put it in motion.
We had 7 rental chairs and rooms to deal with. They were given the choice to work for us or leave. The atmosphere changed overnight. We then had a team instead of individuals. We had a limited budget to work with but everybody helped. We painted, moved the retail and waiting room area so the clients could see it, used spotlights and added new featured products. We changed the signs outside the shop to reflective signs on the windows (they show up wonderfully at night), got rid of all the hand written signs and taped up signs. We put our client list onto the computer and now have a new computer program. As an example our gift certificate sales in 3 years went from approx. $9,000 to $12000 and then last year over $16000. Our new manager works the appointment book very well and has contributed a great deal with her banking background as well.
Debbie and I are looking forward to getting our team on track with training for Customer Service, retention of clients and rebooking.
